Demand and Capacity Planning Tools (DCPT) Draft Outline of Scope

Overview

This page provides a very high view of the draft Epic titles and, where appropriate, individual requirements that are expected to be included in Demand & Capacity Planning Tools (DCPT).

The Epics are grouped into two broad areas:

  1. Dashboard Management - the utilisation of Dashboards to support General Practice demand & capacity planning activity

  2. Data Management - the management and grouping of data retrieved from Foundation Solutions to make it usable for demand and capacity planning purposes. Data groupings include…

Glossary of Terms

  • Activity Data - data relating to a procedure or event which has taken place (e.g. vaccinations, blood tests, prescriptions).

  • Activity Mode - groupings of activity data based on Mode of activity (e.g. face-to-face, telephone).

  • Activity Service Line - a grouping of activity data based on purpose of activity (e.g. flu, vaccinations).

  • Code Set - a collection of SNOMED CT codes that have been grouped together to aid management of the data. Code sets include those defined locally and those defined by NHS England.

  • Patient Specific Groups of Criteria - criteria used to identify a specific group of Patients, using national business rules, SNOMED CODEs, Code Sets and Core Clinical System data.

  • SNOMED CT - Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine Clinical Terms, a systematically organised computer processable collection of medical terms providing codes, terms, synonyms and definitions used in clinical documentation and reporting.
