Background

The below changes to the Video Consultation Capability have arisen from:

  1. Review and analysis on the submitted and passed Supplier Defined Epics for the DFOCVC Framework highlighted 10 new MAY Epics that can be added to the Video Consultation Capability.

  2. Capability model improvement work highlighted the functionality described in E00617 was already mandated as part of the DFOCVC commercial documentation and it was agreed that for better visibility that this should be surfaced via a new Epic in the Video Consultation Capability, which in turn would link to the new Online Consultations and Video Consultations Reporting Standard.

  3. GEN2 changes outlined below are part of the evolution of the existing relevant Digital Care Services (DCS) Capabilities and Standards Model into a new format. The intention of the new format is to provide a more flexible requirements model that reduces barriers to innovation as Suppliers can build iteratively to meet user needs

Assurance Approach

For existing DFOCVC Suppliers:

  • The results of previous Capability Assessments will be carried over, and no further evidence or assurance will be required, from GEN1 to GEN2 for:

    • Epics and Acceptance Criteria that have not changed.

    • Epics that have been split out into multiple Epics, where the Acceptance Criteria has not changed.

    • Epics that have had Acceptance Criteria merged, but the overall functionality described has not changed.

  • It is assumed that Suppliers with Solutions on the DFOCVC Framework have already achieved compliance with the functionality described in the new MUST Epic E00617 as this was mandated as part of the commercial documentation for the DFOCVC Framework.

For New Suppliers:

  • These Epics will be assessed as part of the Capability Assessment phase and this will be a high level assessment based on the Acceptance Criteria defined

  • These Epics are not intended to replace the full assurance process for any related Standards (e.g. assessing the Epic does not negate the need for the Interoperability Standard to be fully assured by the appropriate team)
